Best professional Brazilian keratin treatment: what we check before buying

Written for hairdressers. By the body that sets the RS 7062 certification.

Hola, ¿qué tal ? You're looking for a smoothing product. You type “best professional Brazilian keratin treatment”. You land on rankings.

Top 10. Top 5. The leading brands.

Not one of those rankings has ever held the bottle.

We write the certification. RS 7062, registered with France Compétences. We are the ones who set what a professional must master to do a smoothing treatment without damaging the hair.

So we're not going to give you one more ranking. We're going to tell you what we look at, here, when a product lands on the bench.

There is no best professional smoothing brand

There are products that suit a hand, a hair type, a processing time.

The question “what is the best professional Brazilian keratin brand” has no answer. Articles that claim to give one are selling search rankings, not advice.

You have the technique. What you're missing isn't a brand.

It's a way to choose between two bottles sitting on the same shelf.

Three things to check on a professional Brazilian keratin treatment

01

What the brand will put in writing

Ask for the technical data sheet. Not the brochure. The sheet.

A brand that stands behind its product writes down what it does and what it doesn't do. One that stays vague will leave you alone with your client the day the result doesn't hold.

02

Who shows you the work

A smoothing product is judged on a head. Not in a thirty-second video.

Ask to see it applied, at the chair. A brand that knows its product can show it. One that can only explain it has already answered you.

03

Who picks up when it goes wrong

A smoothing treatment that goes wrong happens. To everyone.

The real question isn't “can it fail”. It's who picks up the phone. A name, a number, someone who knows the product. Not a contact form.

A professional in a white shirt and tie, green rollers in her hair, answering the telephone while sitting on an office filing cabinet
A name, a number. Not a form.

“Vegan”, “formaldehyde-free”, “keratin”: what these words actually say

Three words you read everywhere, on the posters and on the bottles.

Vegan

Says one precise thing : no ingredient of animal origin. It says nothing about how long it holds, nothing about gentleness, nothing about the result on the fibre. It's an ethical answer to an ethical question. That is legitimate. It isn't a hair question.

Formaldehyde-free

Ask for it in black and white, on the technical data sheet. A claim on a poster is not proof.

Keratin

The industry's best-selling word, and its vaguest. It says what the product claims to bring, not what it contains. Again : the technical data sheet.

We don't claim “vegan”. Not yet. We haven't verified it across our whole range, so we keep quiet. The day it's done, we'll say so.

What we won't write

You won't find the protocol here

You'll read articles elsewhere that give the full protocol. The four steps, the iron temperature, the processing time by hair type.

We won't. Two reasons, and neither is commercial.

The first : a written protocol doesn't know the hair in front of you. Hair bleached three times doesn't take what virgin hair takes. No article will make that diagnosis for you.

The second : it is exactly what the RS 7062 certification assesses. Setting it down in four free lines would be claiming it fits in four lines. It doesn't.

This isn't withholding. It's the difference between reading and knowing how.

What we sell, and to whom

We don't sell smoothing treatments to the general public.

See the technical data sheet

The rest of the professional range is in the smoothing collection. The products are visible to everyone ; prices appear once your professional account is approved. All you need is a SIREN or SIRET number and a business in hairdressing.

Test it

Take a product you already use, today, at the back bar.

Ask your supplier for its technical data sheet.

If it arrives the same day, you know who you're dealing with.

If it doesn't, you know that too.

Believe nothing. Test everything.
¡Hasta pronto!

P.S.

The industry sold you rankings for years, because that is what Google rewarded. That is changing. What people are looking for now is someone who stands behind what they write.

Questions and answers

What is the best professional Brazilian keratin brand ?
None, in absolute terms. The right brand is the one that gives you the technical data sheet, a demonstration, and someone who answers. All three, not two.
Does a vegan smoothing treatment last less ?
The word says nothing about how long it holds. It only says that no ingredient is of animal origin.
Which product for very curly or coily hair ?
That isn't chosen from a data sheet, it's diagnosed on the head. The same product does not give the same result depending on the condition of the fibre and its colour history.
Where do I see professional prices ?
They appear once your professional account is approved. All you need is a SIREN or SIRET number and a business in hairdressing.
